“It’s such a rewarding job and it fills me with pride!” 👩🏼🍳 Claire has been a Skills Trainer with us for the past three years, most recently helping to train the team at our newly opened Ilford Premier Inn. When she first joined Whitbread in 1999 as a Front of House Team Member, her own training experiences inspired her and from that moment, she knew she wanted to one day deliver training to teams just like hers. We caught up with Claire to learn more about what a Skills Trainer does. Here’s what she said: “My role as a Skills Trainer actually starts long before the hotel opens, building training plans and guides for the team to use. Once the team is on site, we give them a warm Whitbread welcome before diving into classroom and practical training, and getting involved in community events too! Even after the hotel opens and the training is ‘done,’ I love that we still spend the next week or so with the team, providing guidance and supporting them through their first days. It’s such a rewarding job and it fills me with pride. I love training people from scratch and spotting new talent when I see it.
